This is a very good bike rack for the money. This is my first bike rack and I use it to carry two Specialized e-bikes that weigh 50 and 55 pounds each, respectively. I was not ready to spend close to $1,000 on a bike rack as I am not yet sure how much I will use it, but I wanted a rack that was up to the weight I need to carry. I chose the Hyperax Volt 2 because it was rated for the weight and seemed to be able to hold bikes securely with locking clamps for a little additional security. We used it last weekend for a trip to the Monterey, CA, are with our bikes. It is a 3 hour drive each way and the rack worked great. I am very happy with my purchase and am looking forward to my next adventure.

I’ve been looking for an e-bike carrier that would be able to haul my two heavy e-bikes. This one has turned out to be perfect for my needs. The assembly was straight forward. I used the manual that came with it and also watched the video for assembly and the carrier was put together in about 45 minutes. It only took that long because I took my time while assembling to make sure I learned how everything fit together.I took my e-bikes (60 and 65 lbs) on their first long trip recently and it was a dream trip. There is very little sway in the carrier and the bikes are easy to get up and mount on the carrier. The hold down bars keep the bikes securely in the carrier and the extra straps for the wheels and the frame add an extra measure of security for traveling. The locking mechanism is straight forward. The carrier locks to the hitch and the frame clamps lock the bikes to the carrier. If you really want some extra security, it is easy to run a standard bike lock through the bike frames and lock to the hitch. Overall, I’m pleased with the quality of the carrier. Recommended.

I was impressed with the overall build quality and the gauge of the metal parts and the paint job. (I have not used the locks but had read that they are a substantial weakness; we’ll see.) Assembly wasn’t too bad except for the four wheel holders. Each of the four wheel holders is stamped either “RIGHT” or “LEFT” but there is no reference to this in the assembly booklet or online; I found the “RIGHT” or “LEFT” labeling to be worthless. I needed both the printed instructions that came with the rack AND videos I found online in order to complete the process. It took me about 40 minutes, 15 of which was trying to figure out the wheel holder orientation and ended up doing what I thought was correct. I think I’ll be happy now that it’s all ready to go. Great Prime Day price, too, and I saved $500 over the one I was going to buy!

My wife and I have RadPower bikes. Her’s is a step-thru. Mine is not. Be advised if you have the same bikes you will need TWO step-thru adapters NOT just one. With a single step-thru adapter on my wife’s step-thru bike in place, the adjustable hold-down arm for my bike will not lower far enough to hold my bike in place. The design of the rack doesn’t allow for any adjusting to the length of the rods on the hold-down arms. Pretty disappointed.

Carries my heavy fat tire electric bikes fine but they do wobble on my uneven gravel roads. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the difficulty in raising and lowering the hooks to grab the middle bar on my bikes. One has to be careful to put the smaller bike with the lower hook but the release mechanism to raise and lower the hooks is difficult to release, especially if you have tightened them down securely on the bikes. I have to fight with it every time.

Works great with fat bike electric bike and easy to install

The instructions could have been clearer. You should label things that are tools tools because I thought they were part of rack . also I have leftover L part that I’m not sure what it’s used for. (See picture)

I feel as if I am mechanically inclined but the assembly instructions were horrible. Only after finding and watching several YouTube videos was I able to complete the assembly. Also, the rack is not as easy to carry as one is led to believe. On a positive note it is reasonably priced and sturdy.
