I can only review it for indoor usage, so I can’t say anything about puncture resistance or even durability. But for indoor use, this is the best tire I’ve used. I actually got a second wheel and cassette so I could use this tire indoors. I have a basement office that I share with my wife when we work from home and although it’s a fairly large basement with several doors between her space and mine, the noise from indoor biking was disturbing her. Which was a problem because I like to hop on my indoor bike at least once a day when I have a bit of break so it couldn’t always be afterhours. The worst was when I had my MTB on the trainer. It was converted to a hybrid some time ago with a much gentler looking tires but the noise was still tremendous. Even my road bike with Conti GP 5000TL was noisier than she’d like. But this tire has almost eliminated all wheel/tire noise. The whine from the motor (mag resistance trainer) still remains but it’s pretty well muffled by the doors and nowhere near as annoying as it used to be. For me, I can actually hear what the trainers are saying on iFit and hear the sound from Zwift, plus the TV I have playing.Add to that its very reasonable price and it’s a winner. As for swapping out the wheels, get something like KMC Missing Link and it’s pretty easy. My bike chain actually came with a SRAM link but I didn’t know so I have two links on the chain… Oops… So look for that if you go that route.UPDATE: so I bought another one and equipped my Cannondale F29 Caffeine MTB front and back. And I’m really happy. I wasn’t sure about the traction of a slick but they grip really well, although the roadway was dry. And the low rolling resistance made pedaling much easier and the bike faster than I remembered. I’m going to upgrade to a lighter wheelset and use the MTB (now a hybrid, I guess) as my touring bike instead of my road bike. I’m really happy with this purchase.

I reordered the WTB Thickslicks which I had before and these are most obviously softer and a little thinner. My old WTB Thickslicks had more of a threaded woven feel to them and probably couldn’t have been shipped folded in quads like these were.Regardless they have worked excellent so far, I hope they last the same. I put well over 5,000 miles on my last ones and they lasted nearly 4 years. I rode on a single inner tube set never replaced or repaired and that is a serious achievement. Finally I wore out the last set so much that they split down the middle from being thin which is expected, tires slowly grind. So far again I have not lost an innertube and my city is a very rough ride. I have put nearly 1k miles so far.Installing the inner tube did not seat inside the tire and kept seating inside the rim when inflation, but I just kept removing and reapplying until it seated correctly. Take your time, use microfibers and under no circumstances get any moisture inside the tire or on the innertube. Innertubes usually come powdered but the new continentals i bought were not. I wonder if that will effect longevity.

I have a bike with 650b wheels and have been using this tire for about 6 months. I purchased a Wahoo Kckr Snap to train indoors during the week. The tires on my bike didn’t work well with the Kckr Snap, they were loud and didn’t grip the roller well. I searched everywhere for a 650b training tire and eventually found this. It works great on my indoor trainer and after 6 months there is very little wear on the tire. I am very happy with the purchase.

After much research and reading as much as I can about these tires, I decided to give the ThickSlicks a try on my 27.5″ MTB, and it was a total Win~!99% of my riding takes place on smooth bikeways, such as the 50-mile-long Santa Ana River Trail (SART), and the ThickSlicks are perfectly designed for such surfaces. The tires are heavier than my previous Continental X-King MTB tires that came with my wheelset, but once you get the ThickSlicks rolling, they glide effortlessly and quietly.I took the tires on some hardpack dirt trails and they performed fine. I did have to be more careful, though, when cornering and when going through deeper sand spots. The tires were easy to mount onto my 25mm inner width wheels and they didn’t give me any trouble.I recently did a 41-mile ride from a city to the beaches then back, and the ThickSlicks increased my average speed and reduced leg fatigue compared to riding on the knobby MTB tires.I would definitely keep on buying the ThickSlicks. 5 Star Win~! ?

Long story short, got stranded far from home one training ride when something slashed straight through my tire to the inner tube. This one should do it; I hope. Noticed immediately the smoother ride due to the wider width and it is a great training tire. The 28c did not slow me down at all from my lighter training tire; I think I am faster. I definitely feel more confident that this tire will resist punctures. I plan to order a pair for my racing wheels to give me a peace of mind and a smoother ride. If you ride, nothing is more demoralizing than a flat tire, but even worse is a slashed tire leaving you stranded.

Canβt beat ThickSlick tires in terms of grip, longevity and, in my opinion, appearance. Easily the best tire under $70 for urban/road riding.I do custom bicycle paint jobs/artwork. Whenever a color scheme calls for a white tire, I only use ThickSlicks. Any white tire quickly accumulates dirt/grime, turns brown and makes the whole bike look bad. Only TS tires turn white and look new again with a little elbow grease and a magic eraser.Tire arrived quickly, as described and price was right. Very happy
