This is a good basket, and I’m very happy I purchased it.The item I received is the same as the one in the user pictures on the site, not quite the one in the official product picture. The differences are: 1) mesh ends a little bit higher in the basket, which just means that there is more protection for your smallest items from falling; 2) the mounting for the basket has two hooks that poke through the bottom* rather than a shelf to hold the whole bottom, which means that when you remove the basket the mount is not so bulky on your bike; 3) the hooks for your handlebars have a rubberish padding that keeps the basket on your bike snugly and protects both the basket and bike. Overall, I think these differences are improvements on the basket!*Note, I don’t think that the “poking” aspect will harm any of the items in your basket. Nor do I believe that this mechanism provides another place for items to fall through; it’s a tight fit.In addition to what I mentioned above, here are some of the things I like about the basket:1) It’s a great size. You could stick many types of bags in it, or keep it as its own basket. But it’s not too bulky. The walls are tall enough that items won’t jump out when you hit a bump.2) I like that it’s removable. It’s perfect for groceries and similar outings, and it’s easy to take off if you want to ride without a basket.3) I like that it’s part, but not all mesh. I wanted mesh so that I could keep small items in it without them falling out. But with all mesh, I would not be able to lock the basket to my bike with my cable bike lock. I live somewhere where the basket would definitely be stolen if I could not lock it in place, but my cable fits through the larger slats.4) As far as baskets are concerned, it’s reasonably attractive.5) It is incredibly easy to use.6) My front light can stay on my handlebars and will still be visible over the top of the basket due to the basket’s hook locations. Here are a few things I didn’t like as much:1) In my mind it’s TOO easy to put on and take off the mount part of the basket. I wish the basket was as easily removable, but that the mount was bolted on. As I said, I’m worried about theft, and I can’t lock the mount itself to my bike (not that someone would steal a mount without a basket, right?)2) It’s a little heavy, but honestly I think that just means it’s sturdy, so I’m ok with it.3) Very minor, because it was easy — there were no instructions for putting it together. Just FYI if you buy one and need help, here’s what to do: a) place the hooks over your front handlebars. If they don’t fit, you’ll need a workaround or you’ll need to return the item. b) use the velcro strap to fasten the lower area around the tube that leads down the front of your bike. c) hook the basket into the mount in TWO places: one is by inserting the mount’s bottom wires into the holes at the bottom of the basket. The other way is to insert the handle ends into the loops at the top of the mounting. BEWARE: your handles might be put on backwards, in which case you can’t insert them into the loops. I had to take them off and flip them for the top loop attachment to work. Very easy, but I had to figure that’s what I needed to do.I also believe the customer service on this product will be good if I run into a problem. The item was delivered FOUR days ahead of the earliest day in the estimated window, and when I received it the company left a note that said to please contact them with any problems.I am updating my review after more use. I will keep it at 5 stars, but would switch to 4.5 if I could. The basket is still great, but one time my bike fell and the basket bent slightly. It was a really small bend, but it was enough so that the attachment of the basket to the mount became very weak. It was unusable, because the basket would bump off of the mounting every time I hit a bump. When I took my bike to the shop (for other reasons) I had to ask them to bend the basket straight so that it would work again. Now it works great again. But just an FYI and related to the fact that this basket is easy release. If I had gotten one that had a more firm and/or permanent attachment, it getting bent from a fall wouldn’t have meant it was unusable.

I had a very bad experience with the seller. I felt like I was making a personal exchange rather than buying through Amazon. This is actually my first bad review of a seller because for some reason everything seemed wrong/off. Then again, this was just my experience with them maybe it was isolated.I cancelled my order within 15 minutes after purchasing because of fitment issues (turns out it didn’t fit). The seller Treasure Gifts shipped the item the next day and responded to my cancellation in 3 days. Many non-responsive emails, “Okay sorry. Thanks for your business.” “I have gone ahead and authorized a return. Shipping costs will be the customers responsibility. Thank you.” “It is free shipping to you. Free returns is only if you are using Amazon prime, which you did not.” They even told me vaguely how much they spent on shipping as a reason why they couldn’t do free returns. Said I didn’t specifically ask for a cancellation through the cancellation? After that point I just went through Amazon. My end of the emails were I cancelled it and lot was misunderstood. The problem I had with all this was: 1) I cancelled this purchase and it was sent anyway (I didn’t cancel days later after it shipped, I cancelled 1 day before it shipped). 2) “Free Returns” was stated directly next to the listing price with no mention of anything about Prime (they have unlisted the “free returns” as I am looking at the listing right now) which was misleading. They gave me every reason why they couldn’t return it. 3) They didn’t respond to the cancellation until 3 days later. It was a moot point by then.Read their return policy, unless purchasing through Prime/Fulfilled by Amazon, be ABSOLUTELY certain you want this. Otherwise, returns are straight through them and not through Amazon. I have fitment details below because there wasn’t anything specific in the description/reviews. Return shipping was almost the price of the item and this is based on regular retail shipping not volume shipping rates. A pseudo 90% restocking fee is absurd. They also shipped the item with the handlebar bracket inside the basket in unsecured open space with no padding. No damage, but it was rattling around. Aggressive handling of the package would have. The whole return process took over a month. Amazon made me whole with credit, but it wasn’t money back in my account. Thank you Amazon for that. Otherwise, I would have been paying $30 for no product or $30 for a bike basket I can’t use on my bike.=============THE ACTUAL PRODUCT REVIEW::Important Fitment Information::This will fit mostly for hybrid or cruiser bicycles with taller handlebars, NOT road!Bare minimum measurement between your handlebars and front tire should be 10.5″. The basket height is around 10″ and the installation doesn’t compensate for any clearance beyond the dimensions of the basket. I intuitively thought by design there would be clearance beyond the dimensions (ie. bracket in middle to automatically provide space), but the top of the basket is flush with the handlebars so it rides 10″ straight down. The picture shows a dry fit of where the bottom of the bracket was in relation to my front tire on a road bike which would be resting on it with any kind of weight. After looking more carefully, I saw the issue and I cancelled quickly which didn’t really matter in my case. I thought it would hit my front tire and it did.::::::::::::::I can’t attest to its functionality on the bicycle when riding, but by all means the other good reviews seem on point.Bracket: The bracket’s upper portion has padded hooks for your handlebars, the lower part props up against the head tube. There’s a velcro strap that secures/protects it to the head tube, but it doesn’t look like it’ll do much over time. The bracket rotates with the handlebars so it will cause friction on your head tube. Wrap your head tube in electrical tape the way you would around the bar next to your chain for added protection.Basket: The basket wires on the upper half are solid, while the mesh lower half is more flexible and “feels” soft. I could push the mesh with not much force. The bottom has two holes where the bracket hooks in. If you’re not careful, the mesh around the holes may break over time because of the flexibility of the mesh. If you take the basket out without care, one hook might get caught and torque the hook into the mesh (I saw it happening in my brain when I was disengaging it). I would say this is for low maintenance riders that would mostly keep it on there, but not for continuous removal. The basket interferes with brake/derailleur cables so be prepare to push them aside.Locking Mechanism: There are two lift-style handles from the center-top of the basket. When the handles are in the lowered position it locks the basket to the bracket, a nice feature. The handles have foam padding that “lock” onto side brackets with tension, holding them in place. Other reviews said something about the handles flying up and the basket coming loose over bumps. A secure quick-fix would be using small binder clips to lock the handlebars down. Definitely not for bumpy rides. If it were to fly off, then those mesh holes on the bottom would definitely get bigger.Overall, a good product for a casual use. I would look to more secure mounted baskets for commuters. This was my first basket purchase btw.Hope this helps.

I was really excited to get this basket since I needed something to place my backpack going to work. It just fits my backpack with it sticking out a little and I canβt fit anything else, but for extra security I purchased a stretchy net to keep it in place.Installing the basket to my bike was easy, but didnβt seem very secure and I mean the part where you attach the basket to the bike hook. I can understand what reviewers meant that the basket can get easily unattached while riding your bike especially if your going over bumps ?. Youβll see in my photo, I was scared of that happened so I used tape to keep it place. Honestly, it should have came with Velcro strips to hold them together or some other ideas.Cosmetic look to the basket, I found it had some of the paint coating scratched off at a few spots and it was not the silver color I was hoping (little more on the gray side). In my opinion Iβm neutral about this basket, itβs good for what it is and feels somewhat sturdy. But if you want to make sure your basket stays on your bike, I would suggest a different one or maybe get a rear basket instead because thatβs what Iβm considering.
