I am using mine to repair cheaper type bicycle rear/front hubs. The hub bearing – free floating bearing replacement, and bikes often use different size bearings depending on front or rear axle. Unit can be used for anyone needing to “measure” a bearing to buy the right size to replace it, this unit comes with 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, and 1/4 “holes” you simply drop the bearing thru until you find the right size. SAE is on right side – and Metric MM 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5 bearing size on left side. You get a SAE 12 in. ruler on top and Metric MM – 31 centimeters or 310mm of measuring on the bottom. Works as advertised.

I bought this ruler to help measure ball bearings on a beach cruiser I was fixing up for this girl I was talking to I obviously was not going to buy a whole new bike just a repair the wheel barons all of that to say this thing is great I really did appreciate being able to measure the ball bearings and also fix a busted smoke and give them the correct measurement all in all this ruler might have saved my love life

I have been a cyclist with a decent home shop for almost 40 years. I have always bought Park Tools for those items that I know I will use more than once. Make no doubt, Park Tools ~ARE~ the benchmark for cycle tools. That being said some items are better than others, this is an example. The ruler quality is fair at best with the stamping quality being the biggest issue. The holes that are meant to be a gauge for pins are jagged , and the corners of the ruler are sharp and slightly deformed. The entire ruler has a sharp burr from the stamping process on the “exit” side of the tooling. Disappointed in this, but for the occasional home user these are problems that can be worked around, for a daily pro shop this would become annoying quickly. The second issue is the readability. The blue anodization gives the tool the Park trademark color but makes reading the marking difficult unless the lighting is just right. The photos in the ad were taken in exactly the correct lighting, do not expect this when you use it in the real world. My work around for this was to apply a coat of Rub&Buff metallic wax. Once applied and buffed off it left the indicators much more visible.

EASY TO READ ‘AFTER YOU USE A LAQUER CRAYON ON IT’. (KNEW THAT WHEN I BOUGHT IT). HANDY TOOL

Pocas veces la utilizo pero cuando requiero de ella es esencial en el trabajo d e mediciΓ³n de radios o balines.

Does what you need for bearings and spokes. You can measure stuff with it but it would be better for that if the ends were flat and markings were not just indented onto the metal, but also darkened. Came a little bent but that was shipper’s fault. Easily bent straight again.
