I was somewhat hesitant about buying a one-size-fits-all helmet, but with the dial in the back it does fit well and easily. Each time I first put it on the chin strap does feel a bit uncomfortable when itβs as tight as I think itβs supposed to be, but the discomfort completely disappears once Iβm actually riding. The visor looked too short when I first saw it (itβs about 1β to 1.25β depending where you measure it, compared to my old one which was 1.75β) but it does the job β Iβve had no problem at all with sun or glare. So now that Iβve made it past those few small initial concerns, Iβm actually very happy with it. It feels like it offers more formidable protection than my old helmet but makes for a very comfortable and enjoyable ride.

This fits better than my previous Giro helmet and it has MIPs, which my old one did not. However, I miss the longer visor on my old helmet, which shielded my glasses from both rain and sun better. With this one, I need to wear a cap with a visor under the helmet when it rains to keep it off my glasses.

The helmet is comfortable and vented well for hot weather. I only gave it 4 stars because it does not have mesh to keep bugs out. Otherwise itβs a good helmet.

I got this to replace my 10 yr old Giro Revel, hearing that it was the replacement model. Being a MIPS helmet was a plus. The helmet is super comfortable on my head, however, it doesn’t seem like any thought was put into the straps. At full extension, I have to pull really hard to get the “V” part over my ears, since there’s no adjustment like on the Revel. Having only on side of the strap that’s adjustable, that makes both straps unequal in length which puts the clasp on the side of my chin. Would send back but the way it was packed, you have to tear the crap out of the box to get it out so I don’t think they’ll take it back. Will probably give this to my wife and I’ll keep wearing the Revel.

I purchase this helmet which is highly reviewed in Consumer Reports and elsewhere – it’s great, but I couldn’t make it fit due to lack of adjustable straps. You may want to try it on in a store or be prepared to send it back. Luckily, I gave it to my husband and he loves it. Birthday present – DONE! π

Almost immediately after receiving this helmet, I adjusted the straps and headed out on a ride- feeling confident that this helmet would help make me more visible to drivers.3 blocks from my house, I was nearly hit by someone who was in too much of a hurry to slow down as I rode straight through an intersection (no stop sign for me) and she turned right about 2 feet ahead of me- as though I weren’t even there. This, of course, wasn’t the helmet’s fault. This is due to a lack of awareness on the driver’s part. I had all the check marks ticked – within 3ft of the curb (as law allows for use of the entire lane), blinky LIGHTS on front and rear. Reflective jacket. Bright yellow helmet. Reasonable cruising speed for a residential neighborhood.I managed to get out of this without a scratch, but kind of wish that I’d been bumped, or slammed into her car just so that I could make noise about how dangerous people are in regards to driving around law-abiding cyclists.Oh well. It’s a great helmet. Buy it.
Ed’s Product Reviews –
I’m 6’5” so my head is too big to fit into most other brands of bike helmets. Most helmets only come in small, medium, or large. This brand has an XL available which is perfect for my dome!It has a little ratcheting knob in the back that you can use to cinch it down for a custom secure feel.It is so light I always forget I’m wearing it.
