If you’re invested in mountain biking, this is a great investment.Rack holds two bikes each up to 50 Lbs recommended. Many bikes today won’t weigh 50 lbs unless they’re cheaper materials or an Ebike. If you have Ebikes, I recommend getting a heavier duty rack if the weight is close or over 50 lbs each. This rack is light, and just does its job. It’s very easy to unlock the hatch and pull the rack out and throwing it in the back of the vehicle if necessary for car washes, auto work, or maybe you’re traveling and prefer to keep it safely put up when not in use.It seems pretty sturdy and well made, however the plastic parts do feel flimsy for the price on the wheel attachments. However, I have not had an issue after a months use with them. It’s very easy to put bikes on and take them off. The adjustable position of the rack is very useful and seen in my photos. Helpful Hint: When attempting to lower the rack with bikes on, give the rack a little lift before pulling lever. I’ve noticed some friends struggle with the lever when attempting to lower it, but a slight lift remedies this. The lever should ALWAYS be easy to push. You’re doing it wrong if it’s not.Bikes have plenty of clearance between eachother. Bikes included in pictures are a red Medium Trance Advanced Pro 27s, The Medium Metallic Blue Talon 27s, and a large grey stance 29s.I highly suggest watching a couple videos on building it. It is very easy to do yourself and tools are provided, however do NOT tighten bolts before lining the entire rack up. The holes DO line up, but thats without tightening it down first. If you tighten it all down before finishing assembly, your bolts will not line up with holes. If you leave it loose, it is very easy to line up all bolts. Assembly did not take long. Did it alone and had it on my vehicle in less than an hour easy.I’m very satisfied with the rack. I love how light and easy it is to adjust, yet quite sturdy and reliable feeling. The hitch tighten feature is very nice, but it does leave the rack tilted slightly which might agitate the OCD. The rack and bikes move very little. The bike lock that comes with it is a nice touch, but in reality most bike locks will only deter small time criminals. A professional thief will be able to remove most locks within minutes including this one. You’ll have to invest in a heavy duty one if you prefer to leave the bikes locked out of view, which personally I would never do. If traveling and making frequent gas station stops etc, the lock is useful for a little added security while you run in.Overall, a worthy investment if you’re invested in Mountain Biking. Im well invested in multiple bikes and I have full confidence in this rack with my bikes. Definitely recommend if you’re on the fence. Your bikes deserve this rack.Vehicle in photos is 2013 Equinox.

The Kuat Racks Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack has been an excellent purchase that is both light weight and a great choice for my roadbike and commuter bike. So far, I have attached this bike rack to both my car and at the back of my Casita Travel Trailer. I was concerned if the rack would need an extension to avoid rubbing against the spare tire at the back of my trailer but the rack installed has enough distance from the back of the trailer or my car. The tightening knob on the hitch is a great feature to secure the bike rack and avoid any bouncing or rubbing of the bike rack against the bike or vehicle. The bike rack can easily be mounted on the hitch as its lightweight and can easily be put into storage when not in-use. I really like the foot-actuated pivot lever that easily allows you to lower the rack. The only con I can add is that you may need an additional heavy duty locking chain to secure your bike to the rack & your vehicle. The integrated bike lock cable is good enough but I’m afraid that it may not be enough to deter a potential theft.I’m really happy with my purchase and the build quality justifies the cost.

The instruction diagrams were a bit hard to follow (watch closely for when they switch orientations) but you do that once and itβs worth it. The platform on this thing is so solid. My two priorities in my bike rack research were stability and being kind to the bikes. If your bike is nice the last thing you want is rubbing or chipping paint off because you got cheap on the transportation. I specifically wanted a 2β setup for maximum stability. This thing tightens into the tow hitch receiver beautifully and you drive with zero worries about your bike.Iβve used the integrated security cable and the fold up and away features a ton. Itβs so well thought out. If you visit a bike shop youβll notice a lot of Kuat products in the parking lot, now you know why.

not much to say it works. Have seen some bad reviews saying the plastic hook is too close to the exhaust and melts, but those bars literally can be swung to either side of the rack. So if the inside hook is too close to your exhaust, just flip it to the other side before tilting it up.

We now own two of these racks – one is on my wife’s small car and one is on our SUV. We like the integrated lock feature, and the rack is very steady and sturdy on the car. During the summer months, we pretty much use one of these racks daily. Our bikes are lightweight and we don’t off-road to many trailheads, so we can’t address those questions. Verses our prior racks, we absolutely love the pedal feature that raises and lowers the angle of the bike trays. Our prior racks required you to manually pull out pins to fold them up, a time consuming and tiring task. The rack is well constructed and it has the feel of a much more expensive rack. So, yes, we highly recommend this rack.

Everything about this product speaks of quality and craftsmanship. The way they package the product, to the instructions for assembling and installing it, to its overall functionality. I’m glad I went with this Kuat instead of their competition. In my opinion, this is a much better quality product for the little bit more you spend.

Awesome looking rack that is practical, solid and secure. Love the lock mechanism and the tow hitch lock that is included. Works perfectly!

Solid design, simple to use, and bike’s are quickly loaded and unloaded. Bikes are secured at two quick points of attachment. No bungee cords are additional protections are needed! Love the security cable feature for safeguarding everything when unattended as well.
