Texas Don –
I referred to the sizing chart and bought this helmet. It fits perfectly. Has lots of air flow. Its very hot where I live. So, I broke my knee a couple of years ago. I launched off a berm and bounced several times down a drop. I had on all the gear. Got some rash but broke my knee cap. I had knee protection. I repeat … I had knee protection. What I learned is that if you think you need protection: helmet, gloves, knees, chest … buy the best you can. Don’t take the cheap route because its not worth it. Having said all that … I am glad I bought this helmet.

The size large is an excellent fit for my 61cm head. Of the helmets I’ve tried, including the Giro Fixture, Outdoor Master Gem, and this helmet, this is clearly the most comfortable for me. It feels like my head is inside the helmet, rather than the helmet sitting on top of my head. Air flow is definitely better compared to the Gem. My only complaint is that the adjusting clip on the Y straps causes the straps to twist, and not lay flat against my head. The clips on all Smith helmets appear to be the same, but I find it hard to believe that there’s no way to avoid this; even the Gem helmet didn’t have this problem, and it’s about 60% of the price. Even my son’s $30 helmet from Walmart doesn’t have this problem. C’mon Smith – this is a ridiculous problem to have in an otherwise premium helmet brand. If I was bald, I’d also be concerned about the lack of padding behind the VaporFit dial. But for now it’s not an issue.

Fits great, super lightweight and a steal at this price. The orange really pops and I would recommend!

My head was 23″ and the medium fit perfectly, does not move or shift at all.

The mips allows the helmet to rotate a little bit farther than I expected, but itβs a good helmet. I have not yet tested it in a full-fledged crash, and I hope I never do. Its very light. It fits me well. Comfortable too. Itβs a good choice.

Very light, easy to adjust size.
