   I have an older mountain bike that just finished up it’s maintenance. It came back looking good and riding nice with new chain and gears. It had the old Velcro chain protector and it was in well-worn shape. The adhesive needs a smooth, clean surface to adhere to. I had a few spots where the pad was going so I cleaned and sanded the area smooth. The padding adheres right away and stays in place. That said definitely measure twice as once it’s in place, it’s there for good. This product is not indestructible but it does it’s job as a chain protector quite well.

   Exactly what I was looking for. The material is thick and very durable, the adhesive is EXTREMELY strong yet, until it’s pressed firmly onto the paint it can be repositioned. I bought another pack because I can think of a number of uses for it aside from protecting my bicycle’s paint job

   Looks great on our Mtn Bikes and protects well. I used small pieces on the neck to protect the paint from the brake and shifter cables.

   The black ones are 2 thick for my preference… good option for underside of downtube maybe…. but the clear ones provide sufficient protection while still letting me admire the beauty of my bike…. I mean , I can totally protect my bike with packing foam and duct tape ….lol

   Bought the Carbon Leather Black. Super thick. It literally is like leather thickness and feel. Super easy to install and my Giant Fathom frame at chainstay were I installed is crazy curvy and shaped. Sticks well, time will tell how long it how durable but initial impression pretty solid.

   I ordered the carbon look version based on reviews here. It IS very thick and tough but looks really unsightly on my road bike around the head tube. I’ll probably replace it with the clear version sometime in the future.As a chain protector the thicker version is probably better but even the smaller size seemed large and stiff for the thin chain stays on my steel frame. I ended up using the thinner clear material the frame manufacturer sent for the stays.Nothing wrong with the product. Just probably not the best for my application in the carbon look.
