An update to my earlier review: I had an accident two weeks ago, striking head first into asphalt at about 17 mph, landing in a crumpled heap with the bike on top of me. The helmet foam was dented and cracked and the plastic shell badly scuffed. I had some bruising on my head from the hard contact with the inside of the helmet but that was nothing compared to other injuries of my shoulder and other body parts not as well protected. The helmet absorbed the impact and prevented what would surely have been a concussion and serious damage to my head. The helmet stayed on and protected my whole head including my face. My glasses came off but weren’t crushed or bent. The degree of protection for the severity of impact was remarkable. I bought another Giro Isode to replace it.Earlier review:I was hesitant to buy a helmet online without trying it on first, but I couldn’t get to my LBS and I really needed a new helmet after a minor accident with the old one. This one is light and fits securely and is well ventilated. I ride a hybrid bike for fitness on rides less than two hours in a hot and humid place, mostly on trails where quick undistracted head movement is important. My hatband circumference is about 58 cm (23″) and I don’t think this would fit anyone with a much bigger head, but at 58 cm it feels just right.

This helmet fits well, the ratchet system conforms to the shape of my head. Light and comfortable riding 85 miles in 100 degree heat. I didn’t notice that I was wearing a helmet. Style is pretty good too. I took the front brim off my Cormick helmet and put it in this Isode helmet and it works good. Doesn’t obstruct my vision looking forward while in the drops.

Fortunately so far I have not had to test the quality of the product. It fits my head comfortably it has an adjustable future inside that can be made snug but not too tight.

I bought this helmet for cycling (naturally), loved the look, but I grabbed it because of the MIPSβ¦however I never want to test or know if they actually work, but itβs better to be safe than sorry. The fits is actually great, I was a little concerned when I pulled it out the box, judging by its size and the large amount of hair that I have I was worried I wouldnβt get a proper fitβ¦buuuut I did!

I really like how this helmet fits. I am especially happy with how they designed the chin straps and how the strap lays flat against my cheek at the jawline under the ear. Other helmet designs always seem to have a strap adjustment at the ear, which never seems to fit right and the straps always chafe against my cheeks. Giro has a fresh take on helmet design and they did away with the adjustment at the ear and have a simple yet genius custom joint connection that fits perfectly and lays flat and snug against my cheek under the ear. What a difference!

Air flow is great, haven’t had to use it in a worst case scenario yet, but if it works as well for that as the attention to detail on the product would suggest, I should be able to update my review.

I like the helmet very much. I like the way it fits and looks. Feels more like it fits around your head then sitting on top of your head like some helmets. It comes in two sizes I believe so pay attention as some reviews said it was too small, but the standard size is perfect fit for me.
