The media could not be loaded. Β Iβve been wanting one of these for ages. Iβve been borrowing my shopβs kit for years and it was finally time to get one of my own. I needed it to replace all the suspension bearings in my Orbea Occam. I got both the press and the 10mm drift set. The 23 piece drift set is very nice and did me well last night as I switched out 10 frame bearings. The drifts are manufactured to very tight standards and all the bearings I used pressed perfectly. The press handles are pretty nice too. Keep in mind when youβre using this to break out the speed spacers when you need them. See my pics for some examples and my video for a bearing press and drifts in use.Note for everyone who is going to use this for full suspension bikes. DO NOT put lube on the bike/bearing interface. The bearing hole in the middle of the bearing is where the movement should take place. The bearing SHOULD NOT move within the frame. Lubing that interface when you press in the bearing is a very bad idea. In fact, you want to use Loctite 609 green on the bearing/frame interface. That will keep the bearing in the frame from moving around and ruining your frame but doesn’t hold TOO tightly so the bearings can be removed when they are worn.Example to illustrate why to NOT use lube on the frame/bearing interface: Image that you let your bearings go for a long time and theyβd seized up. If you have lubed the bearing/frame interface the bearing might start to turn in the frame b/c this interface will have less friction than the actual seized bearings. This will, in many cases, cause irreparable damage to the frame by grinding the hold in the frame out. On the other hand, if you use a press-fit bearing locker like 609 the bearing will NOT move within the frame and the seize bearing will either break loose or not but you wonβt be wrecking your bike.

Inexpensive for bearing presses. I see no reason to have spent more. Quality is excellent.

Makes installation of bearings on my Cycling Wheelset easy. I always had the LBS do my bearings before. Now I have control about buying quality bearings of my choice at cost and after the first install the second will pay for itself..

This drift kit came in red and is very high quality. Worked perfectly for my Specialized SRAM hub bearings. I tried a hammer and socket previously, but I could not get all the bearings to seat straight, so this is a must-have for any DIY mechanic. Much cheaper than buying the full kit with wood base and handle tool

Can’t believe I waited this wrong to purchase a bearing press and drifts. It’s actually a pleasure to replace hub bearings now.

Worked great. Used to press bearings back into DT Swiss hubs. Pieces are machined well. The kit doesn’t include every size I need but individual pieces can also be bought from wheels mfg

I already have a bottom bracket bearing press that uses an m10 rod, so I bought this set without the press thinking it could do double duty. The outside diameter of my press rod is 9.82mm, and these drifts are right around 9.8 as well. I’m sure that if you buy the wheels brand bearing press, these will fit fine. The quality on them seems fantastic, and they’re really meant to be used with the wheels press, so I’m only going to knock them one star for not fitting my press. As a review, i just wanted to make sure anybody with a plan to use their own press/threaded rod, should probably look for something else, find a slightly smaller than M10 spec threaded rod, or just buy the wheels mfg brand press.
