Incredible grip with flat petals. Offers great support and rigidity in the swistys. Zero arch if you need it.
BRENT WALLACE –
Awesome shoe. Lots say they fit small, and they do look small. But I wear a size 12 and these fit me perfect in a 12. Very grippy on the pedals too.
Haseeb Chapman –
This was my first pair of Five Tens, moving to flat pedals from clipless for commuting and mountain bike comfort. They fit to size and stick well to the pedals. Great choice.

Bought the Freeriders to replace a worn pair (10k+ miles) of reliable, hard as boards, Shimano MT43s. Riding a fast Giant road bike in a hilly part of the PNW that requires lot’s of steep climbs, windey downhills, and quick stops for heavy traffic –often in the rain, the Shimanos + flat, spiked pedals gave me the freedom to ditch clip-ins, use more of my feet, and feel in control over obstacles and in heavy traffic. The result was less fatigue and numbness on my 3x weekly 25-45 mile rides, plus greater ability to adjust to suddenly changing road conditions (e.g., gravel patches, puddles, mud, stop sign jumping cars, unleashed dogs). Road purists scoff at me, but my feet are worn from 40 years of aggressive endurance riding and racing so f*** ’em. I’m looking for comfort and performance so I can cycle into my 70s and 80s :-)Received the Freeriders last week and took them for a 30 mile ride –one shoe with and one without an added cushion insole. Rode 38 More today in high 80 degree temps.Pros:-excellent hard sole improved my speed 3-5% on flats and 5% on 6-8 degree inclines.-significantly more stable / less foot adjustment than my MTs due to their larger, flatter surface area.-flatter shoe contour results in significantly less foot pain and numbness, and later in the ride (mile 15 vs mile 5 in the MTs).-Sticky! But unlike others who complain they’re a bit too sticky for MB riding, a simple vertical lift let’s me readjust foot position without any difficulty on the road. That’s great for approaching long climbs (rear ball of my foot position) and then transitioning an inch toward my toes for steep descents, and mid-sole for hard stops at intersections and dismounts.-light and breathable. Very surprised that my feet didn’t sweat at all while riding in 87 degree heat today!-easy to walk in when caffeine and porta potties are required.-they appear durable and the laces are sturdy. Of course time and OR weather will be the ultimate judge of both.Cons:No way to strap down the shoelaces when tied (e.g. with a Velcro flap). One caught on my chain, but came through unscathed. Learning how to tie them to prevent that happening again.-I have wide size 11 feet. No 11.5 is offered and my pinky toes rub (a lot) with and (a little) without extra cushioning insoles. Wish the toe box was wider.Overall I’m super impressed with the shoe’s fit and finish, and look forward to another 5k – 10k miles out of them.

Excellent fit. Satisfied with purchase. Do your homework before ordering five ten shoes. Fit is finicky.

They fit good but there differently not a walking shoe not for long distance. But for rideing your mountain bike there great I feel a better support for my feet and they won’t let you feet slip off the paddles. GREAT!
ALFREDO LIMONGI –

Good stiff sole for ring. Fit just right quality shoes.
