   This basket is very good quality, it was packaged very well, and reasaonably quick shipping! I am extremely pleased with how it looks on my Electra Townie 7D. I tried the Electra white wire quick release at first. All I did was bring it home, hold it up to my bike and saw that it wasn’t going to be the look I was hoping for. After finding that this wicker basket is out of stock or on back order at many places (including the Nantucket company themselves at the time I was shopping for it), it was a welcome sight to find Niagara Cycle company showing it in stock. I was concerned about it hanging from the handle bars in front of the cables, but it fits nicely without kinking them at all. It’s sturdy and holds a light jacket, water bottle and snack just perfectly. I didn’t need this basket for carrying groceries, which it would hold a small bag of a few lighter items I’m sure. If I need to carry groceries at some point, I will get a rack and basket system for the back. The wicker color really highlights my orange and white bike 🙂 I couldn’t be happier!!Update 9/3/12- now that I’ve had this basket for awhile, I wanted to add to this review. I still love the basket! It also carries much more than I originally mentioned. I made a tote/liner to use and I can purchase a 1/2 gal milk, grapes, bread, cheese, bag of carrots, etc and still have room for my clutch wallet and water bottle. My cell phone, garage door opener and mace fit into the accessory pockets I added. I can also go to the library and check out 6-8 books with plenty of room. The basket is very solid and sturdy for being wicker. I do have to say that the tote/liner made a difference for how items ride. They don’t bounce around and I feel like I fit more in than without the bag.

   Like the basket very much. Only problem is that the brass plate was very tarnished when it arrived. Would like to know why? What can I do to remove the tarnish and why should I have to sense it’s new?

   Bought this for my wife. Fast, easy install. Looks great and due to the “potbelly” design, stuff (sweaters, jackets, phone, wine bottle) stays inside without fear of flying out. She was very pleased.

   Love this bike basket… however I had to buy 3 before I got one that wasn’t bent or crushed. 2 vendors didn’t bother to wrap it or package it right. So I got crushed baskets.3 was a charm! I got a perfect, attractive, cool bike basket! Thanks!

   Well worth the extra few dollars compared with other options in my opinion. The basket is large enough to be functional and seem sturdy.

   If I were going to use this basket for carrying things, I would have definitely returned it and got a workhorse. This can probably hold lightweight items, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything valuable. Since we bought it primarily for decoration, it will suffice. The straps seem like they are bonded leather with no strength and the wicker is a thin as it can possibly get. At this price point, I expected a lot more thickness to the material. A “real” Nantucket basket is a work of art. This is just a thin basket with a cool name.
