We ordered two Heybike City cruisers, one for myself and one for my husband. My husband was able to put both together but he’s pretty good at assembly. The one bike had a brake cable that was twisted up and he wasn’t sure how to fix it.He’s good at assembly but no mechanic. He told me to return the bike.I really didn’t want to return it because I wanted to get riding. I reached out to Heybike support team by email and they were extremely helpful. They allowed me to take it to a local repair shop and they reimbursed the cost of the repair. Now these larger bike dealers around me will not work on an ebike that was not purchased through them. They start around $2,000 because I looked. We have a friend who paid $4,500. I found a small shop that does not deal in ebikes but he was willing to work on the brakes because it’s all the same as a manual bike. He liked the bike and said it seems to be constructed well. He did give it a look over.We are now on the bike trails and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. It’s comfortable, smooth, has the power when I need it. It’s a breeze going up hills I used to have to walk up because I didn’t have the strength to ride up. We are both in our 60’s and we have bike trails in front of our house that we haven’t used in years. These trails are part of the Metroparks system and goes on for miles and miles. I rode over to my daughter’s house which is about 3 miles away. She couldn’t believe it when I rode up her driveway in a bike. LOL!Unfortunately, winter is around the corner but I will be waiting for spring like a kid again.I believe the Heybike support team is probably one of the best you’ll find. They answered my email promptly and even followed up with a phone call. The fellow at the bike store even said the biggest reason people don’t buy an ebike online is because of lack of support. They are out of California so I can’t take my bike there but it sure was nice they were willing to work with me in the Midwest.Highly recommend.

I have over 350 miles on my cityscape and I’m loving it! The bike was easy to assemble and I have only had one issue with the Pedal Assist sensor malfunctioning. Heybike customer support was great and I had the bike back running as soon as the new part was delivered. It is a great bike for the price, the headlight and brake light work very well, the seat is comfortable, the bike is sturdy and you can remove the battery if you choose when not in use. Also it is such an attractive bike! People always stop me and comment on my bike when I am out for a ride and I tell them the same thing, I love my Heybike! It makes riding so enjoyable again, not having to over exert myself on hills, especially during our hot humid summers. The only thing I regret is not buying it sooner!
Compelled to write a review –
I just looked back at my review and see ‘Vine Voice’. Not sure why it is there. My review is non-influenced, and I purchased this on my own.I love this bike! It arrived from FedEx with the bottom of the box un-stapled, and the bike had two minor scuffs that don’t bother me. I use my bike for riding on trails, so speed is not my priority although I have had it up to 20.5 mph when peddling. It has trail tires, and I’ve found that mild off roading is no problem. This bike takes inexpensive, common 26″ tires. It is a step through frame, not a girls bike. A step through frame is safer because there is no high bar to get caught on. Just hop forward off the seat to the ground. I got the color white for better visibility against black pavement. Thus far the battery life is fine for me, but I do put it in mode 0 once in a while to get actual exercise. It is easy to pedal in manual mode, the motor has very little drag. The one negative for me is that the seat is not comfortable. It’s passable, but not comfortable to me. The suspension seat post (which is adjustable by turning the screw underneath) is not a very high end one, it has maybe an inch of travel and doesn’t work as smoothly as high end spring posts. That, combined with the shape of the seat makes an uncomfortable ride. It is a great looking seat though. I have ordered a new seat so I will find out if that solves my issue.Assembly was extremely easy, but I will list things to be aware of:The front brake MUST be adjusted after assembly. It is easy to do, just loosen the caliper, squeeze the brake handle to move the caliper into the correct position and re-tighten while still squeezing the brake. I also shortened the brake handle throw to my liking. The seat post clamp nut has to be tightened with a wrench, it is very hard to turn. The nut is aluminum so it will get wrench marks on it. I almost thought it was not going to get tight enough to hold the seat post, but it did.The locking center hub for the front reflector was hard to find, I dumped the box over and then found it on the floor. It was just loose in the box. Without this little piece, the front reflector can not be attached to the spokes. The chain guard was crooked such that the pedal shank rubbed against it on one spot. One bracket wasn’t aligned with the others (see pictures). It was an easy fix, the bracket easily bends by hand to where it should be. I removed the chain guard to do it.The tires were a little under inflated. Inflate them to 50 or 55psi.Two other notes. The throttle over rides pedal assist. That is, the bike goes the speed of the thumb throttle, whether pedaling or not, in the three power modes. And this bike has a thumb throttle which I much prefer over a twist throttle in a bicycle. And 2nd, whenever approaching people walking on trails, it’s good practice to put the bike to 0 manual mode as you approach them. This is because one uses the pedals to help balance at slow speed, and if it is in power mode 1,2 or 3, the bike will take off when trying to just slow balance behind them using the pedals and handlebar.

I originally had a problem with The fact that I needed the seat post to go a little higher than the standard Heybike was amazing and worked with me and made the proper modifications so that it fits my frame. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and willingness to do whatever it took to make it right. I highly recommend a bike which works great as well as Heybike which provides customer care after the purchase.
