Assembly was fairly easy – but I did get confused on which end was to be the receiver for my 2″ hitch – – a quick call to customer service indicated I was not reading the directions correctly (dummy me). This hitch replaces a 4 bike carrier I was using – and was looking for a 2 bike carrier that I could leave on the car while still in the garage. Since this rack can fold in toward the rear of the car when not in use – – YES – I can get into my garage without removing the rack. But not to worry – it is easy to remove/install – – I recommend using a ratchet socket as that way you can ensure the rack is tightly secured and does not allow the rack to “wobble”. You will to check that periodically if using the rack repeatedly – and keeping it attached to the vehicle. The rack does rotate back so it is easy to open a Hatch Back vehicle while still loaded with 2 bikes.Highly recommend this rack – – there are similar racks available that are much more expensive. I did wait to purchase this during PRIME DAYS so I did get a better price. Put it in the cart an wait for a “sale” if you find too expensive; it will be worth it if you are an avid biker. I get compliments at the bike trail at least once or twice a month.

We purchased this rack in Nov. of 2016 and use it 2-3 times a year (mainly transporting our bikes between Pittsburgh and Florida).I give 5 Stars to the overall performance of this rack for ease of use, adjustability, ease of attachment, etc. one big issue is the flaking off of ALL of the grey paint and subsequent rusting of the tire trays.I keep the rack stored in our garage when not in use and the only time itβs out in the weather is during transportation. Whether they werenβt properly primed or something else, Iβm extremely disappointed with it in this area only! At this point, Iβm debating whether to replace it with a different brand or not. And thatβs a shame, because I really like this rack!

Love this rack. Very secure and quick to load and unload. The one improvement could be to add foam pad roll to the rubber arms to protect the bike paint. The rubber is too stiff and could rub off the bike paint.

Bike rack seems sturdy enough. Not too difficult to put together. I could see how it might be easy to take it apart and steel part of it with the bikes attached. I have to look into further about preventing that aspect. On the hooks to come down and lock the bikes, there is some play. Somebody could deflate the tires or maneuver the bikes out potentially. I wouldnβt feel comfortable as it is. Leaving the bikes alone too long. Need a better locking system on top of what they have built-in. Otherwise pretty nice rack for the price.

This rack is great. It hold the bike really well. It folds up nicely and putting the bikes on it is a breeze. One of the best things (and the reason that I wanted to replace my old rack with this one) is, I now have unrestricted access to my hatch when the rack is folded up not in use. Assembling it was not a problem just few bolt, nuts & a couple of screws. For those that complain about the rack being loose or shaky, I would suggest (just like when you get a new bike) that you tighten up all of the pre-installed bolts and nuts. Just don’t go crazy on the bolts that are connected to any moving parts because, well, they have to move. After assembly, I added a layer of clear coat for just a little more protection from the elements. I also sprayed the pivot areas with a little liquid lubricant for the same reason. My last bit of advice for any of you potential buyers or even some of you current owners. The hooks are hard, just as some have noted but they are also pretty much the same diameter as your handle bars. You can look right here on Amazon, and pick up a pack of “handle bar foam grips” for less than $15. They work great to help keep your bike stable, secure & scratch free.

Easy to assemble using video. Hooks on car in 3-5 minutes. Bikes are very secure with wheel straps. Fold down feature is great when leaving on SUV – don’t have to worry about tailgate hiting bike rack.

The frame appears to be rock-solid: well built with some preassembly. The rest of the assembly as well as setting in & securing the bikes was pretty easy.Fits well on the back of our SUV. Tilt forward & back is straightforward and locks in place. Our two bikes are looking forward to a 2,000 mile round trip on their new rack.
