I searched for this basket on Amazon 7 weeks ago, having encountered it elsewhere online, but could not find it listed. I ended up ordering it from a bicycle shop in Holland. Given current air freight disruptions, it took 6 weeks to arrive. As I researched the basket, I even contacted the designer team that created this for Basil, trying to find a U.S. retailer. Ironic that it now shows up on Amazon on the very day I receive the Carry All Basket from abroad.I can confirm a couple of things that I was uncertain about: The bottom is rigid as are the sides, up to the aluminum frame. Above that, the sides are soft (the sides and bottom are in luggage-quality fabric). The top is soft, satin-like cloth with a draw string that functions well. The handles, too, are soft (made of the luggage-style, durable fabric), with reinforced handgrips. I was initially concerned that, under load, the handles may be uncomfortable to carry (like when shopping), but it is fine. The soft handles also are ideal for when it is on the bike, as they are not in the way.The included MIK attachment works well on my MIK-compatible rack, snapping in securely. Unlike other reports here, I have not and do not experience any rattling whatsoever; it is firmly in place. The attachment comes with what Basil calls a βkey,β which is really just a USB-like piece of metal that acts as a conveniently-placed plunger to release the basket. It is not a βkey,β however, in the sense that it secures the basket in a locked state. Anyone trying to remove it could pretty easily figure it out. So this basket is not for permanent installation on bikes where it will be left unattended in theft-prone areas. What the basket appears to be mainly for is grocery shopping. It is about the size of a typical grocery-store hand basket (albeit somewhat narrower and somewhat longer). So if you pop over to your local store for supplies, this is an ideal, urban-oriented basket that can hold a meal or twoβs worth of groceries β say, a half-gallon of milk, some juice, a bottle of wine, a few veggies, and such β with ease. It would also work very well as a picnic basket for four people to enjoy some time out and about.I got this to supplement Ortlieb panniers for medium-size shopping; and in addition to a Burley Coho XC trailer for the big hauls. Were I to use all of these carriers together, it must be Easter, Christmas, or Thanksgiving. I saw one YouTube video of a gentleman who had trouble attaching his panniers while the basket was in place. His solution was to attach a MIK adapter plate to his already-compliant rack, and then fit the basket above that. This resulted in setting the basket just enough above the pannier side rails so that both could be used simultaneously. Happily, I do not have that problem. But if you do, there is a solution.Anyway, if you have a MIK-compliant bike rack, or are willing to purchase separately and install the MIK adapter to your non-MIK bike rack, I can recommend the Basil Carry All as a very easy-to-use and easy-to-live-with basket that is durable and handy for urban living.

This Carry All Rear Bicycle Basket is exactly what I had hoped. It is made very well and easily disconnects from the rear rack to to my shopping or just to remove my personal items when taking a break.

BUYER BEWARE! This product sold through Amazon is a seller in the Netherlands. The basket, when installed on the bike rack with the Basil system, can not fit as a result of the bike seat. The basket needs to sit slightly under the seat which is not possible.; I have an Electric Bike Company Model R. To return this item unused in the original packaging it is my responsibility to pay postage. I did not realize it was shipping to the Netherlands!! The shipping and insurance will be close to the purchase Price. Read the fine print and Buyer Beware!!
