   According to the Thule website this will protect my frame. We’ll see how she holds up over time. I’d rather see something like this built into the bike carrier instead of an option that can be forgotten or misplaced.

   My carbon frame has a weird shape along the top bar that I was really worried the jaws of the Thule rack would crush. It’s not clear from the description but the frame protector actually does have some kind of stiffened reinforcement inside the soft rubber exterior, so it really does distribute the jaw pressure. I strapped it on, lined up the jaws, and, teeth gritted, wincing, puckered, torqued that knob down until it clicked, as instructed. The frame survived. The load was tight. If you are going to use the Easyfold rack for a carbon bike, spend the money on this protector and torque away.
