Coco’s Mom –
This is my first bike rack and I’m paranoid about strapping anything to a vehicle. This rack is not recommended on the Saris website to be compatible with my 2020 Evoque. I’m 5’2″105lbs, installed the rack and mounted the bike by myself. I followed the instructions and my bike wasn’t lying on the ground, nor was there damage to my car or bike. Make sure all points of contact are clean and the straps are tight enough for no movement. The brackets at the end of the straps are metal with a rubberized coating and slide into the gaps around the hatch. The feet of the rack that brace against the hatch are kind of a soft plastic. The rack itself and the straps that hold the bike are plastic. The incompatibility with my vehicle is with the angle of the bracket on the side straps. They don’t fit in the gap around the hatch. To compensate, I purchased the Hatch Huggers and found that tying them together inside worked perfectly. The brackets are labelled by being stamped into the metal but can be hard to read, depending on the thickness of the coating. The blue and orange straps are extras that I purchased to stabilize the front wheel, and for peace of mind.

I had huge doubts about whether this would work and to be honest on our first trip on the interstate I was basically watching the rear view mirror half the time worried it would fail. But if you do this correctly and watch some YouTube videos and check and check again to make sure it’s secure, you’ll be fine. I tried to keep the speed under 65-70mph but I don’t think I needed to. I now have full confidence in this bike rack. Knocked a star off since it’s not very clear how to install but that’s really my only complaint. Do your best to rest the feet on the bumper (so they are horizontal) rather than against a vertical part of the back. In case it helps this was used on a 2011 Toyota Prius.

Used this on a hatchback model and it can be installed and secured in 20min easily for 2 bikes without rushing. For 3 bikes It gets tricky sometimes to arrange the handles, pedals, etc. in a manner that they don’t interfere with each other but that might be the case with any similar models. Also, naturally, there is more chance for the belts to loosen slightly with the weight of 3 bikes so just have to make sure you tighten them very well. I would recommend.

Without a doubt itβs versatile. I have a BMW 2020 x6 and it worked. The only concern I had was the bottom strap couldnβt hook under the hood. So I made it work by placing the hooks under the car. Just make sure you secure it very tight before you add the bikes on and also after you put them on to take away slack. It also worked well on my BMW 530i 2015 vehicle.Very sturdy and strong. The only con to it is adjusting it for storage. Tip once you find the sweet spot on adjusting it to your vehicle just use a sharpie to mark where you had it so that when you pull it out of storage you can adjust it to what is comfortable.

First, this is for Saris: PLEASE update the clamping knobs to have metal threads. I almost had to return the rack because I (ignorantly) removed the knob entirely, and when I went to reinstall it, I cross-threaded it. Plastic threads in a metal nut will cross thread with about the same torque as the threads going in correctly. I used a razor knife to clean/fix the threads and just got it to work. I know it saves money, but it can’t add much more to make that important fix.Other than that, the rack is sturdy and has a very clever design, using the central aluminum tube to allow for a very large range of mounting configurations to support being used on multiple vehicle types. The BIGGEST seller for me, was the angled upper arms along with the strap guide. This solved a long running issue for me, which occurred with my old bike rack. I couldn’t use it on the back of my two Honda Odysseys because the straps would put a severe downward force on the rear spoiler. The shape of the upper arms gets the strap over the spoiler and puts no force on it, even when the rack is tightened down.I have a large family (and a dog) so when we go on vacation, the interior is crammed full and the top rack as a large luggage carrier installed. The rear window is the only available spot for a bike rack (no hitch installed on either van).I’m really excited about being able to bring my bike on family trips and summer vacation!

Easy to assemble – had to YouTube a video of installing but easy peasy on my Acura TLX with small spoiler. This held a heavy mtb and a road bike with ease. Bought separate wheel straps to prevent wheel spin/stability during drive. No budge, wiggle, or loosening. Only used once as a trial run but so happy with this purchase! Comfort of mind was worth the price.

It is light, sturdy, inexpsensivee and carries my bicycle securely. The negative issues are that installing and removing it is takes some time, and that it seriously compromises my view of what is behing me, both through my mirror and rare view camera.

Muy fΓ‘cil de armar, que se guarden las correas y traiga los tapones es muy bueno
