I am writing a follow up review of his product. I’m exceptionally disappointed in Vaude product and the service which they have provided me thus far on this product. I’ve owned the product since March, and both the panniers are discolored on the top, where the sun and rain hits them the hardest. The worst is that they are out of Amazon’s warranty, and Vaude won’t cover the bags. For Panniers this expensive, which discolor this quickly, this is not good. If you are on the fence about these, be wary that they may turn colors and fade on you.

Iβve been using these for about a month or two now & theyre great! Totally waterproof, lots of room, easy to set up to fit your rack. Overall, great pannier. I only marked it down 1 star because it would be fantastic to have an outside pocket for small items, like keys & phone, instead of having to open the whole thing to rummage through. Otherwise, Iβm totally satisfied & would recommend to others wholeheartedly!

I spent a lot of time reviewing bags and originally intended to get the iberra quick release system but I opted for these. I really like the system but I am knocking off a star because the tightener to the pannier can loosen and then your ride gets wobbly. I dont really like how they did that as it can be hard to get it tight. I plan to get a strap or bungie to better secure the bags against the rack just to be safe. Used it for the first time on an overnight ride and they look and work great. However I am learning the hard way that you have to be thoughtful what and how you pack and to distribute weight. It did add to the resistance biking with that weight and I think I may move my tent to a handlebar rack to redistribute and free up space in the panniers. BTW the trunk rack is the iberra quick release and its freaking awesome.

Iβve used my Vaude panniers for just about 15 years now having toured both Europe and North America. I use them on three different bikes and they easily adjust. I can also switch them from rear to front bags if and when I wish. Not so with the Ortliebs I also own and use. This panniers top closure has a rollover and side snap. No need to loop a strap for hold down. Same quality and appearance as Ortlieb. I like the inside pocket for iPad and travel document accessibility. They are no longer bright and shiny. Neither am I.

Not much more to add. You can pay a lot more and get the same performance from other brands. These work great, and have held up.
