I really like the fit of this helmet. Most bicycle helmet manufacturer descriptions do not address the rider’s head shape. I have found that most of them are designed for a round head shape and an intermediate oval shape at best. Describing the head shape, and manufacturing the helmet to it, is a common practice with motorcycle helmet manufacturers. With motorcycle helmets, I have what is described as a long oval shaped head. By hat size, I wear a 7 5/8 to 7 3/4. I measure at about 61.5 centimeters. Because of the oval shape of my head, most L/XL bike helmets showing a max of 62/63 CM ride high on top of the sides of my head. My head is not fully protected by the helmet. If I force the helmet down with a tightened chin strap, I get the common upper forehead burn within an hour of riding. This helmet fit great out of the box. The wheel adjustment mechanism at the rear of the helmet allows you to tighten it to an exact comfort and fit in both directions (front to rear and side to side.) I tried on numerous L/XL helmets in stores before taking a chance with this one based on other reviewers comments. It is not just a good fit for “big heads,” it is great for people with the long or narrow oval shaped head issue.

Perfect fit for my noggin. I have this one and the camo one.

Very happy with the helmet. My only complaint is that the chin strap is too short. I have fully extended it yet when i look down, I can feel the strap pulling on my chin.

No complaints. Have not had to test its effectiveness but it is lightweight and looks good. Nice and cool

Like the title says. I got an XL and it fits my size 8 mellon with room to spare. I can actually use the crank thing on the back to fine tune the size. Usually I have to keep the crank wide open if they have them. I tried all the recommended mtb helmets for “huge heads” I got the Giro, no go way tight. I actually put this one on and thought damn its too big, I need tighter pads, then I remembered the crank fit deal on the back and cranked it down. It fits great. If I seem a little excited about a dorky mtb helmet I am. Small people don’t know how good it feels to fit in something correctly. MTB and Motorcross gear seems to be all sized incorrectly. Now who knows of a full face MTB helmet for huge heads?

This replaced a 10 year old Gyro helmet. I was surprised to see my helmet was from 2010, thatβs a good run but not recommended to go that long. Originally I was looking for replacement pads for the Gyro but decided to get a new helmet instead. Turned out to be a good call. This helmet fits my head very well and is true to size.

My husband is pleasantly surprised at how much he likes this helmet over his last one. Fits great. Great ventilation. Great buy.
