This would be a 5 star rating 1) if it had a continuous speed throttle allowing for continuous, smooth low speeds, and 2) more power under challenges like hills, and 3) if the battery lasted longer.Apart from these three notable limitations, this scooter has served me very well so far. At 49 years of age and 125 pounds, I fall far out into the 13 and up category ;), so that should be factored into my evaluation of it performance to some degree. Also the purpose at this time of this scooter for me, is mobility as I recover from a foot surgery. It is not inherently safe or particularly intended for this purpose, but as an active person very accustomed to riding gas scooters, gas motorcycles, and all types of bicycles, I am comfortable using it this way. I use to it from the parking lot at work, to, and up into my office. But that one reason the 15 mph single speed is difficult to get used to and always results in a compromised ride, at least when not riding it for recreational purposes. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE; I WAS NOT. I have to on and off the throttle to mimic a steady low speed (which I think is somewhere rather high, maybe around 5 mph?) and even then, a very slow speed (3mph or less) is very hard to get and cannot be maintained. So to go slowly you surge forward (not a very jerky surge, but still not smooth) then let go and glide down to the speed you really want. I do manage to use it safely, but for my purposes a continuous speed throttle would be extremely preferable. If this was not a temporary situation, I would invest in upgrading to that which I noticed is available on ebay. The lack of great power is not that important to me now for my current situation, but when I am better it will influence whether I keep it or sell it. I have tested it on varying terrain here and there such as hills, and light off-road and was disappointed in its power and acceleration under challenge. But my background is having all motorized licensed vehicles; I have never owned a battery-run scooter so I am probably comparing apples and oranges to some degree. As far as the limited battery time, I have never run out of battery to know how long it will last, because due to my infirm status I charge it compulsively. However I can tell by charging time that the 5-20 minutes at a time that I do use it is sucking a fair bit of juice. The HUGE pluses for me given my situation, especially when comparing this to the other sizes of razor scooter, is having the optional seat (plenty comfortable and sizable for my purposes/distances) and the option to kick and glide. If I am in a tight area, or in an area in the building around other people that is flat, I can use the scooter by pushing off with my good foot, with no throttle. Not all of the razor scooters have this feature for whatever reason. Lifting 45 pounds in and out of my car everyday has not been a problem for me, as I am able to grab it easily and move it quickly enough without burdening either foot too much. It has unbalanced weight like the old tube TVs so if you choose the right places to grab it, it cooperates better. So this review may not be very helpful for those shopping for a scooter for a child, but this is how it has served me. It was an impulse purchase, and I feel lucky it is serving me as well as it is given that. When I was on crutches, it was invaluable and I found a way to secure the crutches on the handlebars and they cleared the throttle completely and left the brake side completely unhindered. Again, it was not intended for this, and there would be consequences if something were to happen, but it didn’t and there weren’t. Then when I was surprised with the sentence of 4 weeks in a huge walking boot, though I was off crutches, the scooter was even better for getting me longer distance more quickly (for one thing my foot had better protection). The platform on this thing is sizable enough at least for my body size to rest a huge walking boot comfortably (or both feet) with room to spare. I can sit towards the back, middle or front of the seat too to some degree. One other thing for people of all ages and circumstances to note: the ON/OFF SWITCH IS INCONVENIENTLY PLACED out of sight by the charging plug on the side below the platform/deck: VERY EASY TO LEAVE ON!! It is also a little hard to reach from the seat or even from standing if you are in a surgical walking boot. But despite its notable limitations, overall this scooter has been GREAT to have. Two days door to door with prime and assembles in 15 minutes or less: cannot beat that!

Got this for my 12yr old but I have been having a blast on it. I did test the battery and it lasts for 40 min then slows down and I was able to get 5 more min to get myself home. Few imperfections that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. First 10 min of using it and the chain fell off. Luckily I had with tools to take it apart and watched a YouTube video to fix it. Throttle rubs on your hard and starts to hurt , I would recommend gloves. There’s a piece inside the right handle to allow you to blow up back tire, I saw some complaints about not being able to blow it up, read the directions it’s there. My issue is it doesn’t stay in the handle it falls out so you can’t keep it in there while riding. I wish handle bars were a little bit longer or the grips weren’t so thick so I could get side mirrors, phone holder and light on there comfortably. I had to take the grips off to get all that on. There should be a better way to lock it up. The only place to do that is by front tire and if someone had a wrench they could easily take the tire off

My daughter has the more expensive razor electric scooter and of course my son also wanted one. The price has gone up significantly on the one we purchased for her a few years ago, so we decided to purchase this scooter for him instead. It is a little smaller and did not come with a basket. Once we charged it, wow! It does go very fast, as fast as the other electric scooter, and we were able to purchase a generic basket and attach it to the seat frame and it works great. He was very happy with his scooter and not bummed at all that his was not the same one that his sister has.

I bought this for a 10 year old and he does like it. It seems very well built and high quality. the description says it can support over 225 pounds. I weigh about 175 and it canβt take me up a mild incline. It has no problem with the 10 year old. It also didnβt take another 115 pound adult up the hill.

I ended up just replacing the motor and the battery with something higher powered and I wanted a scooter that could climb hills which this scooter will not do stock great for kids when itβs stock I wouldnβt suggest for adults or teens if you want performance get something a bit higher end
